Learn the beer brewing process at Thirsty Crow Brewing Co. and pick your own produce at Bidgee Strawberries and Cream or Wollundry Grove Olives. Only have an hour on your hands? Head to The Wagga Shop and experience all the local produce the region has to offer under one roof.
AM to PM: Forage and feast
Start the day right and sample award winning beans at one of our local coffee hangouts such as Trail Street, where everything from the beans, to the milk is produced locally. Cement your spot in the breakfast club by visiting one of our other trendy cafés including Fitzmaurice Café, The Brew or Meccanico Espresso and Wine.
Once your coffee needs are sorted, get hands on with one of our signature agritourism experiences. Learn the forgotten art of weaving and meet the alpacas who supply the delicate yarn at Ashculme Textiles, or, try your hand at flower arranging with Little Triffids Flowers.
As lunchtime approaches, get the team together to taste and prepare our finest regional produce at Food I Am cooking school. Food I Am also cater for corporate events, so why not ignite some friendly competitive spirit with a barbeque and charcoal cookoff? Enjoy the fruits of your labour while taking in extraordinary panoramic views on the highest elevated site on the southern edge of Wagga Wagga.
Come afternoon, spin the bottle and head for the cellar door at Borambola Wines or Charles Sturt Winery. As night approaches, enjoy a degustation dining experience at one of our region's finest restaurants such as Pastorale by Meccanico, The Charles Dining Room or Magpies Nest.
Day trip agri experience
Wander further and enjoy some amazing agritourism experiences in our beautiful surrounds. No matter which direction you head in you'll uncover a new town full of friendly faces, fresh produce and picturesque scenery.
Junee is a short half-hour drive north of Wagga Wagga and is home to the famous Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory. Create your own giant chocolate freckle or grab some sweet treats to take home. Next, stop over at Coolamon and enjoy handmade local cheese at Coolamon Cheese. or enjoy coffee and house made lunch at The Station Collective, located in Coolamon's heritage train station.
Fancy venturing further? An hour and a half’s drive from Wagga Wagga is all it takes to climb into the mountains and experience seasonal menus and local produce. Visit Tumut River Brewing Co for a local ale paired with a homemade pizza. While in the Snowy Valleys, skip over to Pretty Parrot Distilling in Tumut or Ladbroken Distilling Co. in Tumbarumba where their signature gins will have you leaving in good spirits.
