In March 2017, Charles Sturt University (CSU) launched a new boutique wine range. The focus is on producing quality wine which makes the most of the regional characteristics of fruit sourced from premium NSW wine grape growing regions. CSU aims to draw on expertise of students and alumni in growing the grapes and making the wine.

The 2016 vintage saw the release of six boutique wines and two alumni wines, a total of 550 cases of premium boutique wine, and 1,500 cases of alumni wine, made for CSU by alumni wine makers, this year it’s been made by McWilliams, based in Griffith.

The boutique range includes small volumes from premium wine regions in NSW, great quality and excellent value. Wine varieties available include: Shiraz, Chardonnay, Nebbiolo, Rose’ and Tempranillo. The Alumni range is made up of a Chardonnay and Shiraz, both from the Gundagai region.
