Spring days
Here’s some top reasons to Visit Wagga Wagga + Surrounds during spring.
fresh + vibrant | produce
There’s an abundance of fresh, flavoursome produce around during spring. In Wagga Wagga pick plump strawberries straight from the plant at Bidgee Strawberries and Cream (pictured) (opened seasonally October to April), taste salty, savoury olives grown in the farms at Wollundry Grove Olives or Parafield Olives, or dine at one of our eat + drink places and sample local flavours of the season.
In the region, head off on a road trip to discover handmade cheese at Coolamon Cheese, organic sweets in Junee at the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory or wine, spirits and ales in the Snowy Mountains.

One word … canola!
If spring was a colour, in our Wagga Wagga + Surrounds region it would be yellow. Canola paddocks (pictured) pop up all over our region, making a quick road trip out of Wagga Wagga very appealing. And, you really don’t have to travel too far out of the city limits to find bursts of the colourful paddocks. A 20 minute trip towards Junee, Coolamon, Temora, Narrandera, Lockhart and even Holbrook and you will spy some of the brilliant yellow fields.
Adding to the golden tones of the region is the bursts of wattle that comes into bloom. And, don’t forget the rainbow of colours that fill our beautiful, well maintained city parks, including the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens, Victory Memorial Gardens and Collins Park.
You can also check out the wildflowers that bloom in Livingstone National Park - a short half hour drive from Wagga Wagga.
