Five ways to soak up summer in Wagga Wagga

Visit the 2020 #9 best beach in Aus | Riverside: Wagga Beach (pictured above) has taken out the number nine position in the best beaches in Australia for 2020 – as compiled by Tourism Australia’s beach expert – and the first inland beach to ever make the lists.
Wagga Beach is the perfect spot to soak up some sun, splash in the refreshing water of the Murrumbidgee River and play some beach cricket on the sand. There’s also plenty of shade to sit under – so pack a picnic, your togs and enjoy a great day out by the beach.
Remember: if you are swimming in our inland waterways, always remember to respect the river.

Brewery tour | What says summer more then an ice, cold beer? Wagga Wagga’s homegrown brewpub Thirsty Crow Brewing Co. has plenty of their very own refreshing ales on tap (and in cans), and, they even let you behind the scenes to see how the stuff is made.
‘The Crow’ offers weekend brewery tours led by their passionate and informative brewers. The tours are about 20 minutes and held every Saturday and Sunday from 2pm. Best of all, the tours are free and include beer samples – three cheers to that. It's handy to book the tours, which you can do by phoning the brewery.

Forum 6 Cinema | Air conditioned comfort, watching the latest blockbusters with house-made choc top in hand. Summer at its best. Check out the 'forum's' page for what's screening and more.

Road trip | Turn the tunes up, grab the snacks and your mates, and it’s time to hit the open road.
Wagga Wagga is the perfect launchpad for a quick road trip around the region. Head to Narrandera to spy some koalas, Temora to see the high flying machines of days gone by, have lunch at the Ariah Park Hotel, or skip on to Junee for some sweets at the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory. There’s cricket history in Cootamundra or grab a selfie with one of Australia’s famous four-legged pals, The Dog on the Tuckerbox in Gundagai.
Head to our Visit Wagga wander section to plan your Wagga Wagga + Surrounds road trips.

Camp out | Hot summer nights under the stars to a chorus of chirping crickets. Choose from one of our great Wagga Wagga + Surrounds camping spots – many right beside the river. There’s also caravan parks to pick from or Hillview Farmstay near Gundagai has a range of accommodation options, including safari glamping tents.
