Each year the Visit Wagga Wagga team deliver a series of seasonal campaigns, publications and events to build destination awareness and encourage visitations to our Wagga Wagga + Surrounds region.

COLLABS

About: A collaborative product and marketing platform with a focus on agritourism, local tourism-focused creators and curated storytelling.

COLLABS launched in October 2022 and will be in market for 12 months. The following products have been released to date, with a further three products on the way:

Primary channel: Website, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube as well as promotion through the Wagga Wagga Visitor Information Centre and participating businesses.

Outcomes:

  • A collection of unique, small batch products made by producers and makers in our Wagga Wagga + Surrounds region
  • Dedicated COLLABS webpage, which includes an online shop and behind-the-scenes storytelling
  • High-resolution photography of each producer/maker, as well as videography for select products
  • Attendance at Wagga Wagga's River and Wren Markets to promote the campaign

Christmas campaign | It's the most Wagga-ful time of the year

About: Online gift guide and promotional video aiming to support small local businesses and increase retail spend in-store and online during the Christmas holiday period.

Primary channel: Website, social media, YouTube.

Target Market: Visitors + community.

Outcomes: More than 50 local and regional products showcased through The Gift Guide.

Industry events

Tourism and Events Masterclass Series

About: Five free tourism and events focused workshops delivered over the month of May 2023. These workshops covered a range of industry relevant topics including:

  • Wiradyuri/Wiradjuri cultural awareness (pictured)
  • Destination trends and accommodation insights
  • Understanding the power of social media
  • Best practice events promotion

Outcomes: The workshops were well supported with over 90 participants looking to build their knowledge and come together to build positive working relationships to further promote Wagga Wagga + Surrounds as a leading tourism and events destination.

Tourism Australia | National Experience Content Initiative

About: Our city’s National Art Glass Gallery, Botanic Gardens and Zoo & Aviary were filmed and photographed as part of the Tourism Australia National Experience Content Initiative, in consultation with Destination NSW and Wagga Wagga City Council. The imagery will be hosted on Tourism Australia’s image and video gallery which is accessible by the general public, media and trade, free of charge.
