High Flying History
Temora boasts three museums, boutique shopping, and immaculately preserved historic buildings, all set against the stunning landscape of the Canola Trail.
A must-see is the Temora Aviation Museum, home to arguably the world’s finest collection of flying warbird aircraft – including the only two flying Spitfires and the oldest flying Tiger Moth in Australia. Test your pilot skills on one of three full-motion flight simulators and be sure to catch one of the spectacular flying display days hosted by the museum.
Explore more than three acres of historic Australian treasures at the Bundawarrah Centre (formerly the Temora Rural Museum), which features changing exhibitions, the NSW Ambulance Museum, Australian cricketer Sir Donald Bradman’s first home, and the Wiradjuri Keeping Place.
Pack a picnic and head to Lake Centenary, where you can enjoy the 2.7km Lake Loop walking track, take a dip, or try your luck fishing. For more excitement, save the date for the annual V8 jetboats in action or bring your boat and go water skiing.
In the nearby village of Ariah Park, you can explore wide heritage verandas, quirky petrol bowsers, and dine at the charming country pub, the Ariah Park Hotel.
