- Get lost in the three levels of fluorescent fun at Wagga Wagga’s Laser Tag
- Enjoy fresh-made popcorn or a choc top and catch the latest releases at Wagga Wagga’s Forum 6 Cinema
- Splash about at Wagga Wagga’s Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre – best of both worlds with indoor and outdoor pools on offer
- Head to Junee to discover all the sweet treats at the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory – 30 min drive from Wagga Wagga
- All aboard the Willans Hill Miniature Railway. Weave through the Wagga Wagga Botanic Gardens and pass through tunnels. Trains depart every first and third Sunday. Enclosed footwear must be worn.
Get into nature this summer
Discover diverse landscapes, explore national parks, spy iconic wildlife, there are so many ways to connect with nature in summer in our Wagga Wagga + Surrounds region.
- Picnic or play at Riverside: Wagga Beach – a sandy strip by the Murrumbidgee River, great for keeping cool or enjoying the grassed, shady areas
- Spend time exploring our region’s national parks – go bike riding or bushwalking at Livingstone National Park just outside Wagga Wagga, or head into the Kosciuszko National Park for lookouts, caves, thermal pool and more.
- Combine tradition and nature at Marrambidya Wetland in Wagga Wagga. Go bird watching or get a birds' eye view from the viewing platform.
Road trip the region
There’s always more to explore when in our Wagga Wagga + Surrounds region. Jump in the car and no matter what direction you head in you’ll uncover a new town full of friendly local, unique shops, attractions and more.
Here’s some great places to get your road trip adventures started.
- Yarrangobilly area | join experienced guides and explore the stunning landscapes and caves in this area. Also pack the swimmers for a dip in the thermal pool – naturally heated – and enjoy the walks in the area, open dawn to dusk. You can find the Yarrangobilly area in the Snowy Mountains region about a two hour drive from Wagga Wagga. Guided tours must be booked through NSW National Parks and Wildlife Services.
- Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins | A state-listed heritage, industrial site, this must-see destination is the perfect place for gold panning and is a popular swimming hole in the warmer months. Adelong is about a one hour drive from Wagga Wagga in the Snowy Valleys region.
- Lockhart murals | Take a 40 minute drive to the charming town of Lockhart to check out the larger-than-life murals. See the local flora and fauna on the Lockhart water tower standing in the main street. Then head to the small township of Milbrulong to see the beautiful Rosella birds – local to the area – adorning the water reservoir there. While in Lockhart also discover the Lockhart Sculpture and Heritage Trail and find out more about the history of this great town.
- Temora Aviation Musuem | A must-visit attraction which is home to arguably the world’s finest collection of flying warbird aircraft. The museum acknowledges the role played by RAAF ex-military aircraft and the men and women who flew and supported them. Temora is a one hour drive from Wagga Wagga.
