About the event

Festival of W is a 16-day festival showcasing the city of Wagga Wagga and enticing visitors and locals to come out, explore and enjoy our city during winter and the July school holidays.

FAQs

Where is the Festival of W event ground

Festival of W is held in and around the Civic Centre and Wollundry Lagoon precinct in Wagga Wagga's CBD. The event ground takes in parts of the Wollundry Lagoon precinct, Baylis Street, the Victory Memorial Gardens and Civic Centre forecourt.

Where do I enter/exit the event ground?

There’s no set entry and exit points for Festival of W. Follow the music and lights and you will easily find the event ground in the Civic Centre and Wollundry Lagoon precincts in Wagga Wagga.

What time does Festival of W start and finish?

Festival of W runs for 16 days with some activations and installations on each day of the festival - from July 6 - 21.

Timings for activation on Friday 12 July - Sunday 14 July are 5pm to 10pm.

Skate Wagga Wagga sessions are 10am to 10pm. Last skate session 9pm.

House of FoW opening times are:
Monday to Sunday 
Lunch 11.30am - 2.30pm 
Dinner 5.30pm to 9.30pm

How much does it cost to attend Festival of W?

Entry to Festival of W is FREE! Purchases of ice skating tickets, food, drinks, merchandise and any other items inside the event ground is at your own expense.

How do I purchase ice skating tickets?

Skate Wagga Wagga tickets can be purchased through the official ticketing website from 5 June, 2024. In person sales will be available at the on-site ticketing office at the Victory Memorial Gardens in Wagga Wagga from Saturday 6 July.

Can I bring my own food and drink, including alcohol, into Festival of W?

Due to event licences and development application, alcohol is NOT to be brought into the festival ground.
There will be a great range of food + drink vendors available at the festival and we encourage festival-goers to support these vendors. Additional eat + drink businesses in nearby Baylis and Fitzmaurice streets will also be open during the festival.

Will food vendors cater for dietary requirements? 

Event organisers will work with food vendors to encourage accommodating a range of dietary requirements. It is up to each vendor to determine their menu for the festival.

Will there be road closures for Festival of W?

Yes. There will be road closures in and around the festival ground. More details on the road closures will be made available closer to the event.

I am driving to Festival of W, where can I park?

Wagga Wagga’s CBD has numerous large carparks and off-street parking, most with disabled parking included.
Large carparks in walking vicinity of the event ground include:
- Myer carpark off O’Reilly Street 
- Cross Street carpark off Tarcutta Street
- Peter Street carparks
- Senior Citizen Centre carpark off Tarcutta Street

Will there be inclusive/disabled services available at the festival?

Disabled toilets will be located at:
- Victory Memorial Gardens toilets (crn of Morrow Street and Ivan Jack Drive)
- Civic Centre foyer toilets

In addition, the pop-up ice rink at Festival of W permits wheelchairs on the ice. Sensory sessions will also be available for Skate Wagga Wagga.

Filming and photography of, and at, the festival

Festival of W is a public event that will be filmed and photographed for promotional purposed for use by Wagga Wagga City Council and any approved third parties. If you do not wish to be filmed or photographed, please make yourself known to event staff.

Personal use of devices for photos and filming is allowed. No commercial filming or photos permitted from the event.

Can I bring my dog to Festival of W?

No. Due to food service, loud music and light sensors and the large number of festival-goers expected at the event, dogs are not permitted into the event sites. Service dogs allowed.

Can I bring a pram/stroller for my child/children?

Yes. Prams and strollers are permitted into the event sites. However, please note that prams and strollers are subject to security searches.

Where will the toilets at the event be? 

Festival folk will have access to the following bathroom facilities:
- Victory Memorial Gardens toilets (crn of Morrow Street and Ivan Jack Drive)
- Wagga Wagga Civic Centre
- Visitor Information Centre (Tarcutta Street)

Cashless event

Festival of W encourages a cashless event policy for purchases of food, beverages and merchandise inside House of FoW and for Skate Wagga Wagga tickets.

If there is an emergency evacuation at Festival of W, what should I do?

In the case of an emergency festival-goers should listen to event staff for further directions.

Emergency evacuation areas for the event are:

Myer carpark

Cross Street carpark

Woolworths carpark off Johnston Street

Will there be security at Festival of W?

Yes. There will be security for the duration of the event.
