Ashculme Textiles

Ashculme Textiles is one of the finest examples of a sustainable fibre to fashion story.

When visiting the Ashculme studio and farm in Wagga Wagga you can learn the basics of weaving to make your own fashion items, and, just a few steps away from the studio, you can meet the alpacas that provide the wool to weave with.

Ashculme Textiles was started by Fiona and her mother Roswitha in 2016, born from a passion for creativity, imagination and the endless pull to try new things.

Little more goes into an Ashculme Textiles accessory than alpaca yarn, merino and the colours of nature. The alpaca yarn comes from their own small herd of suri alpacas, the merino from a mill in northern NSW, and the colours? They are all natural, mostly from eucalyptus trees in surrounding bushland to the Ashculme property.

The Wagga Wagga + Surrounds tourism team have teamed up Ashculme Textiles for the COLLABS campaign creating three limited edition, handmade and dyed accessories: bow ties, brooches and key chains.

With the autumn racing season, including Wagga Wagga’s Gold Cup carnival, just around the corner, these items are perfect for race day. Or, simply add one to your winter attire for a touch of handmade uniqueness.
