Australia Day in Gundagai

Crowd
Join them for the Community Australia Day Ceremony hosted by Cootamundra-Gundagai Regional Council, a morning filled with celebration, recognition and local pride. The event begins at 9am with a hearty breakfast catered by the Gundagai Lions Club, along with a coffee van and live music from local performers.

Formalities begin at 9.30am, including speeches and the presentation of Australia Day nominees. At 10am, the 2026 Australia Day Awards will be announced, recognising outstanding contributions from the community. The ceremony usually wraps up by 11am, guided smoothly by Councillor McAlister and MC Pete Readon (subject to confirmation).

After the ceremony, head to the Gundagai Swimming Pool for the traditional Australia Day pool party featuring free entry, a sausage sizzle and fun games for all ages. It is a great way to continue the celebration with family and friends.
