Daniel Johnson

Daniel Johnson
Pianist Daniel Johnson presents an all-Australian program featuring a serene journey across the western Australian oceanfront with Nicole Murphy's suite The Seagrass Anthology, followed by an exploration of the Sonatine landscape as envisaged by four of Australia's most beloved women composers.

Daniel Johnson, described as "masterful and insightful" by Yamaha Australia, began piano lessons in his hometown of Mount Isa, Queensland, before moving to Brisbane to study at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and the University of Southern Queensland. He gives masterclasses, adjudicates, and broadcasts live recitals across Australia, has presented research at international conferences, and has worked as a Lecturer at the University of Queensland, where he received a Masters degree with distinction in piano performance and analysis studying with the late Professor Max Olding. He is a passionate advocate and researcher of piano music by Australian composers.

This performance is part of the Wagga Weekender Music Festival. All performances are general admission. The festival is supported by the NSW Government through Create NSW. Presented in partnership with the Riverina Conservatorium of Music.
