yalbayarra giilang | telling stories

Digital illustration of a Brolga and Kookaburra by Aunty Lorraine Tye
yalbayarra giilang | Telling Stories is a powerful new exhibition by Wiradjuri Elder and artist Lorraine Tye, showcasing fibre art and animation that honour ancestral stories and connections to Country. Rooted in deep cultural knowledge and lived experience, Lorraine's work draws on traditional weaving practices and contemporary media to share four significant stories from Wiradjuri Country.

yalbayarra giilang | Telling stories invites audiences to engage with culture through tactile artworks, animation, and live performance. Accompanying workshops with schools and community members provide opportunities for cultural learning and intergenerational exchange. Grounded in Wiradjuri values and protocols, this exhibition celebrates the strength of community, the power of storytelling, and the enduring spirit of Country.
