Narrandera Koala Festival

Koala sitting on Second Beach, Narrandera Meet Australia's cutest koala colony at the Narrandera Koala Festival - a weekend of epic bushland experiences, wildlife encounters, and nature-fuelled fun in the Riverina.

Since 1972, Narrandera's koala colony has grown from 19 reintroduced koalas to over 300 roaming the riverbanks and river red gums. This is your chance to get up close, get involved, and be part of one of Australia's longest-running conservation stories.

On Saturday, you'll find guided bushwalks, expert talks, live music, artisan markets, and thoughtfully curated experiences. Entry to the festival precinct at Brewery Flat Reserve is free, with a mix of complimentary and ticketed events.

On Sunday, take part in the annual Koala Count — a coordinated conservation effort that brings you into the field. Expert guides will take you off the beaten track inside the Flora and Fauna Reserve, offering practical guidance, local knowledge, and the best tips for spotting koalas.
