Gundagai ANZAC Day

Wed 25 Apr 2018

Time: See details below

Commemorate ANZAC Day in one of Australia's most recognisable towns 'Gundagai'.

The day will begin with the Dawn Service at 6am in Anzac Grove.

At 10.15am locals and visitors will assemble in front of Lotts Family Hotel for the ANZAC Day march up Sheridan Street to the Cenotaph for the laying of wreaths and main ANZAC Day Service with the 7th Light Horse Gundagai Troop in attendance.

The march will begin at 10.30am and be led by the Gundagai Town Band followed by Vintage Car Club vehicles carrying RSL members.

Anzac Grove is Gundagai's main war memorial situated in Landon Street, featuring an original World War I Memorial hand-crafted by the late Frank Rusconi. The memorial sits at the centre of a grove of 52 kurrajong trees, representing the 52 Gundagai soldiers who died in the Great War and engraved pavers line the “Walk of Honour” commemorating men and women of Gundagai who have served in the Military Forces of Australia.

Enjoy a game of Two-Up or just a catch up at one of the licenced establishments.
