What's On Autumn 2018
Autumn lets you linger a little longer.
The summer holiday rush has eased to a slower pace and mild temperatures make venturing out more enticing.
It’s like the season is reminding us to embrace all we can before the winter mist blows in.
Start your Autumn at the ever-popular annual Riverina BMW Wagga Wagga Food and Wine Festival in March. The festival showcases some of the region’s best paddock to plate produce and top drops.
Natural beauty is the season’s showstopper – think late afternoon sun flares and rustic tones of the deciduous trees. Connect with nature by celebrating the Easter long weekend with family-fun activities in the surrounds of the Botanic Gardens. Or, head along to a special bird watching tour with ecologist Peter Menkhorst at Marrambidya Wetland. The tour is part of Fresh: Ideas. Insights. Perspectives, a new program running for the month of April.
Take the time Autumn offers to learn something new. Through Fresh you can get hands-on with cardboard jewellery making, spoon carving or wild brush making. Learn how to use your smartphone to snap a photo of the season or get involved in the art of floristry.
Fitz Live will get you into the groove of the season on 10 March and again on 5 May, while the region’s largest drawcards, the Wagga Wagga Gold Cup Racing Carnival rounds out a big three months of events.
