Member Protection Information Officer Training for Sports Clubs

Member Protection Information Officer Training Tue 17 Jul 2018

Time: 6pm to 9pm

What is an MPIO and why do we have them?

An MPIO provides information about the rights, responsibilities and options available to an individual making a complaint in sport.

They can also inform and advise sport administrators and complaint handlers. MPIOs are impartial and don't mediate or investigate complaints.

They may reside in a club, state association or national sports organisation and can also freelance.

The MPIO training process is undertaken in two phases:

1. Undertake the online training component via the Australian Sports Commission's (ASC) Learning Portal, which is made up of seven modules, taking approximately two to three hours.  You will be required to register a profile on the ASC Learning Portal. https://learning.ausport.gov.au/auth/login/?returnUrl=%2F#

2. Book and attend a face-to-face course to finalise your training.
