Australia Day events in Wagga Wagga will feature entertainment and activities for the whole family across two days.

There's also extra celebrations on Sunday 28 January as the city welcomes the Queen’s Baton Relay ahead of the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast in April.


The World Wetland Day event has now been cancelled. World Wetland Day:

Celebrate World Wetland Day at our very own Marrambidya Wetland (100 Narrung Street, Wagga Wagga). This free community event will include eco-exciting activities including possum peek-a-boo, water bug hunt, finding frogs and their habitats.

Picnic + Movie at the Oasis: From 7pm

Bring your own picnic and small inflatables for the pool to watch Captain Underpants at the Oasis Regional Aquatic Centre (Morgan Street, Wagga Wagga). Free entry from 7pm to 9pm. No entry or pass outs after 9pm. No glass, alcohol or commercial food.

Beyond Bank Australia Day Awards Ceremony: From 7pm

Celebrate our community’s heroes in the Victory Memorial Gardens (cnr Baylis and Morrow Streets, Wagga Wagga) as we award the Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, Ted Ryder Memorial Award (Sports Administration) and the latest Sporting Hall of Fame inductees.

Featuring a free concert by the Australian Army Band Kapooka and the National Anthem Competition Finalists, all are welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy the gardens under the stunning, newly lit-up tree. There’ll also be a Borambola Wines pop-up licenced bar area and other tasty morsels.


Australia Day Activities: From 7am

Triple M Riverina will host a free community breakfast alongside lots of free fun activities brought to you by Hit 93.1 Riverina in the Victory Memorial Gardens, cnr Baylis and Morrow Streets.

Australia Day Citizenship Ceremony: 9am

Join us as we welcome Wagga’s newest citizens in the Civic Centre Forecourt.
