Riverina Conservatorium of Music 2017 Concert Series No.8 - The Operatic Clarinet
Sun 27 Aug 2017
Rossini, in his infinite and comic wisdom, was once heard to exclaim "how wonderful opera would be if there were no singers!" 19th century clarinetists decided to take Rossini's words to heart and arranged a dazzling selection of music from popular operas for clarinet and piano. Jenny Binovec (clarinet) and Hamish Tait (piano) explore mellifluous melodies combined with virtuosic variations, from Verdi’s La Traviata and Rigoletto, as well as music by Rossini, Mozart and others.
